Kimberley Gundle

Hall of Fame
1-25 November 2005

Kimberley Gundle's portraiture is witty, intimate and urban, with a firm grounding in psychology. Her focus on people's footwear as an eloquent expression of personality takes on a snap-shot-moment approach. Seen at street level London yields a telling array of social strata, familiar, yet not.

Now we have to look at the images quite differently as these are all people in the public eye: Jerry Springer, Omar Sharif to name but two. We are going to learn something distinctly different from these simple fragment portrayals in startling and seductive hues.

Also in this exhibition the Footsie One Hundred series playfully links text and image as groups of City feet are suprerimposed across a Financial Times backdrop.
