My recent pictures evoke the matter and act of writing, its space and time, and its strange surface, a sensual thing. They correspond to the rhythms of writing, silent rhythms within the mind. They also suggest a pre-verbal order of signs, movement and energies.
I often work on tissue paper, built up in layers. Its translucent quality has a beauty and a voice of its own. A writing before the text.
