Charting a Decade: 1995-2005
28 March - 11 May 2006

Simon Lewty and Will Maclean have made distinguished, poetic work over a period spanning four decades. This survey exhibition documents the period from 1995, during which they have shown in London and more recently in New York, with Art First.

The visual thinking and hidden narratives of both artists have evolved into an art that is increasingly reductive, honed and profound.

Simon Lewty's work is well represented in museum collections in the UK including the Arts Council, The British Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum, and in the USA , in the Ruth and Marvin Sackner Archive of Visual and Concrete Poetry, Miami Beach.

Will Maclean is Emeritus Professor at University of Dundee (Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design). He is represented in museum collections in the UK including the British Museum and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, and in the USA, including the Yale Centre for British Art and the State Museum of North Dakota. He has been recorded for the British Library and Tate sound archive.

There will be a publication to mark this exhibition. Other published material on the work of each artist is also available from Art First.
